Algonquin Provincial Park has been established since 1893 known as Algonquin National Park.
Kawartha Highlands Signature Site is our newest Provincial Park in Ontario

KHSS, Located south of Algonquin Provincial Park situated along the southern edge of the Canadian shield and encompassing 37, 587 hectares with few interior roads. The Kawartha Highlands Signature Site will be the largest protected area south of Algonquin Provincial Park in the township of North Kawartha located within the north eastern quadrant of Peterborough County and comprised mainly of forest, lakes, creeks and rivers which provide for an abundance of wildlife, scenic views and recreational activities for all age groups.
Spectacular sights and picturesque scenery right here in Ontario with many undeveloped areas mostly undisturbed land with traditional values.
